Fermanagh Trades Council centenary event

On Friday 18 January Fermanagh Trade Council held an event at Enniskillen Library to launch its centenary celebrations, marking one hundred years since its inaugural meeting in February 1919.

As part of the centenary programme, local labour historian Jim Quinn has founded an archive of records documenting trade union activity in Fermanagh dating back as far as the 1820s.

He presented copies of the archive to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Enniskillen Library, and the Irish Labour History Museum. Jim is publishing a book presenting his research in February, and organising an exhibition on local labour history at Enniskillen Museum later this year.
