Marie Curie needs your help

Every year, people die in Northern Ireland having missed out on crucial palliative and end of life care. The impact of not having the right care in place can be devastating for both people at the end of life and their loved ones.

We believe the next Northern Ireland Assembly must make improving care and support for dying people a priority. Last year you kindly supported our campaign to change the NI Executive’s Programme for Government (PfG), and now we need your help again.

We’re calling for all candidates in the upcoming NI Assembly election to pledge support for a new Palliative and End of Life Care Strategy. Please help by emailing your local candidates today using our simple online form and template email.

More people are receiving palliative care in Northern Ireland now than a decade ago. However, this still falls far short of the growing need for end of life care as the number of people who die here increases every year.

There is currently no strategy in place to improve the care provided to dying people in Northern Ireland. A new strategy would help ensure that fewer people at the end of life miss out on the care and support they need.
