The Northern Ireland Telecom Branch Retired Member’s Section recently organised a day-trip to Dublin.

The outing included travel Belfast to Dublin by train, a Guided Tour of Trinity College, one of Europe’s finest educational institutions, lunch and a few libations with some of our CWU Ireland colleagues, at the Gingerman pub, and travel back to Belfast.

Almost thirty of our retired members made the journey and were blessed with a glorious sunny day as they strolled around the historic buildings of Trinity. The tour guide provided a wealth of information on the history of the College and gave a comprehensive insight to some of the more famous and indeed infamous intakes.

Branch Secretary, Joe Fee joined our retired members on the day and said the branch were only too glad to support such ventures.

The Branch RMS wish to thank Jimmy O’Connor, our colleagues from the CWU Ireland and Stephen and the staff of the ‘Gingerman’ for all their help in making the Dublin outing an enjoyable day for our retirees.

Note: The next social gathering will be the Christmas Lunch which this year will be organised across four venues, (further details to follow)
