Explore the ICTUNI May Day 2024 Program – A Call to Solidarity

As May approaches, the ICTUNI is gearing up for its May Day 2024 celebrations, and we encourage all CWU NITB members to participate in this event that champions workers’ rights and solidarity. The theme for the rally this year is ‘Better in a Union’, and it promises to be a day full of inspiration, unity, and community engagement.

Event Details:

Date: Saturday, 4th May
Assembly Time: 12:00 noon
Location: Writer’s Square, Belfast

The day starts with a rally at Writer’s Square, where leading trade union and community activists will deliver speeches. This will be followed by a lively parade through the city center, symbolizing the resilience and diversity of the trade union movement.

After the parade, the celebration continues at Larkin’s Square with an alcohol-free family fun day until 6 PM. Activities will kick off at 10 AM, including arts workshops, a flea market, music performances, and children’s entertainment like face painting and a bouncy castle.

Highlights include:

  • A keynote speech by Rozanne Foyer, General Secretary of the Scottish TUC.
  • Engaging art workshops, stalls, and live performances ensuring a festive atmosphere.
  • A chance to learn more about trade union heritage and the ongoing commitment to workers’ rights.
